Oakwoodsmen Unite!
Nike © Football is proud to present the new Oakwoodsmen FC kit for the 2012-13 season. Drawing inspiration from the allegiance of the Oakwoodsmen’s local town’s population to Manchester’s top-tier teams, the strip unites the true spirit of the north. The Red of the shorts is inspired by the Red of Manchester United, and the Blue shirt is a nod to the Blue of Manchester United’s away kit. White was chosen for the numbers as it rhymes with a word commonly used to describe Manchester City, while the white V on the chest indicates the direction they will be heading next year. The Blue socks hark to the sea, which is a long way from Glossop, as the feet are from the head, which the Oakwoodsmen Captain Jonathan Atkinson insists is an essential component to playing football as well as the feet. The kit itself is designed to cover the body and prevent nakedness. With a revolutionarily opaque material, the fleshy peachiness of the human form is concealed to comply with the law of the Oakwoodsmen’s native country, England, Europe, of which the Oakwoodsmen expect to be champions of very soon.
